This painting was inspired on a crisp winter morning while I was volunteering at Harmony Farms Sanctuary. I was feeding the horses and snow was coming down in little soft clumps from the sky. As I admired the winter wonderland, a flock of scrub jays flew through the sky and landed on an old weathered oak tree. Their azure blues looked stunning against the snowy backdrop. I just knew I had to paint it.
