Rafting the Grand was inspired by my own 19 day white water rafting expedition on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. This particular campsite was after a long windy day of rowing. We pulled up onto the beach and watched the storm clouds roll in. As the sun set, the canyon cast it's gigantic shadow on the opposite canyon wall. We set up camp and watched a thunderstorm roll in. The wild weather cooled the air, which was a relief from the blistering heat of the summer's day. This trip changed me fundamentally. I found parts of myself that were stronger than I ever expected and I found peace deep within me. I hope others might enjoy this rarely seen view from the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
