These green-violet swallows visit Bend, Oregon every spring. They come in huge numbers and flock to the river. These beautiful little birds are a sign that the bitter cold of winter is over and it's time for things to begin growing anew. I love watching their aerial acrobatics and they hunt little bugs above the surface of the river.
