Bubbles was inspired by the river otters that live in our local Deschutes river. One cold winter morning I was walking along the greenway along the river. I was crossing the flag bridge by the Old Mill and an otter popped up in the river below. He was totally undeterred by the the cold and was splashing and playing in the water. This sparked my idea for this painting and it was solidified when I visited the River Otters at our local High Desert Museum. They are so playful!
